ReplyDeleteWhenever I read the scripture that talks about the root of bitterness, I remember back to when we built our home addition...There was a certain tree that needed to be dug out by hand since it was on a hill...I will never forget chopping away at a root system only to find two more large root systems..Now that is the picture I have in my mind whenever I think about just how deeply bitterness can become rooted within us!

DeleteAw yes; bitterness. It is one of the most destructive and dangerous of all human emotions and if not dealt with, will spiritually destroy the person who has it. Bitterness is bondage, and what a joy to be set free from it! Straight and to the point Ken; love it!

Thank you Denise. Bitterness not only destroys us, it leads many to do such evil things they never imagined and bring distruction on others too. You are right, it is the most destructive and dangerous emotion we have. Have a blesses week.

ReplyDeleteA true example of forgiveness are the families of the murdered victims in South Carolina. First words out of their mouths: " We forgive you." Wow, what a testament of true followers of Jesus. God Bless the victims and families and perpertrator of this senseless act. May our Lord continue to show the World; that HE LIVES in us who believe.
